Major aspects and changes

The white balloon and the red balloon-  The white balloon symbolises at first to the audience the child's and the mothers innocence, however it quickly changes to the red ballon and satays red for the majority of the footage which symbolises how the fathers pressure is getting too much to bare.

The colour scheme - Red/ White/ Black is representative of passion v anger, innocence and cruelty/ callousness.

Black and white scenes and desaturated colour scenes - the black and white represent the past, like a faded memory, some being better times for the mother, but with the underlying problem of the abuse. The desaturated colour being the present.


Conclusion from filming


From our day of filming, we have decided that the most effective way to present our 'pressure' objects, is to have them dropping down from a pulley system, which will present the pressure that is being pushed on the protagonist. When the pressure becomes too much, the objects will drop to the floor. Having a pulley system means that we can control how the objects are positioned and fall meaning we can convey better what we are trying to represent. we decided that the pressure objects should be sot when we express the protagonists internal emotions towards the situation, as that would suggest the idea of claustrophobia more effectively. We decided that we would express her internal emotions like the video ' the way you lie' to provoke more of an reaction from the audience.
