sight and sound review, The lay out

sight and sound review pres

More PowerPoint presentations from Sophia Basaratti

 >The font of the title is a medium size and plain
>The lay out seems to be simple
>The first letter of the paragraph was extremely large in comparison to the rest of the letters on the page
>The image is a good size so that the reader can grasp an understanding of the film, and it also features the main characters within the film
>At the bottom it contains the synopsis and credits
>The fonts on the title, the directors and actors, synopsis text and credits are in bold
>They only have one photo of the film which is either illustrating new actors, the climax in the film, or the genre of the film
>This magazine also has a two word summary of either the characters traits or the film as a whole, which is also highlighted in red
>The texts highlighted in red show the facts of the film, such as the Actors, the Synopsis and the Credits. I believe they have highlighted this as the magazine is very factual, and identifies these traits through using the colour red to remind the reader of the factual elements of the film.
>The layout is simple, yet effective

Sight and Sound is a good review style and magazine in itself, as it is very factual, and so is our film, due to its ability to inform an audience on a specific social topic. This has inspired me to follow Sight and Sounds formate and their conventions.

Final poster for our film

Feedback for poster on Facebook and Instagram

From the feedback made we feel that we might have to consider the font of the text and its positioning to ensure that it is as successful as possible.

This is our final draft for our poster. We as a group prefer this to our other draft as it looks more professional, capturing the theme of the film that we have produced. However, we will ask for feedback and alter anything if needed to ensure our audience understand the concept that is being presented.

The colour theme presented within this poster, is reflected within our film. We thought it best to grab our audiences attention by using our child actor (Bella), within the poster, as this will create an emotive reaction of some sought, making our audience engage with the poster for longer, as well as making them question what the poster is about, due to the obscure positioning that we have placed our characters. We thought that the best possible way to create a connection with the audience and our poster was to make our child actor have the eye-line match, so she is directly looking at our audience, enticing them to engage, whilst the glazed eyes and dazed facial expression of our main protagonist provokes questions. The angles used within this poster also co-ordinates with the shots and angles used within the film.

The title used was decided due to our feedback that we received previously regarding our possible titles for our film on Facebook and Twitter, however, the slogan underneeth is new, and is very fitting to the title that was chosen by our audience. We decided to use a slogan so that they can associate it with the film that they watch, making them question the film in relation to the title, and an be used as a base line to guide our audience through the more complex narrative of our film.

We did this on Adobe Photoshop and decided that we wanted to use footage from the film as it would link better than doing a separate photo shoot for the poster. To get the poster how we did, we manipulated the image in the following ways:

>Rotated the images
>Made the contrast higher
>Darkened the photo
>Merged two images together

final name for our film

Our title was selected due to our feedback which was previously posted on Facebook (To the left)

We also decided to settle with this title as it is the most fitting title that links to our footage that is shown within the film.

Font experimentation for our film title

Storyboard for our film

This is a storyboard illustrating our ideas for our other half of our final product, and will guid my group to capturing the essence of this part whilst filming. Our shots are intended to make the audience feel uncomfortable as they watch the struggle of our helpless, oppressed protagonist.

This storyboard was done by using Adobe photoshop. These images within this short clip, was drawn on photoshop and the time was speeded up dramatically, while lights were added within the shot to give a flashing effect.

costume for the next pat of our film

Our group opted for a short back dress with sleeves and black tights, this is due to us wanting to cover our protagonist in black, but the shortness of the dress allows the character to move freely within the shot to make the harder physical movements more plausible.

The neckline is high up so that is is less revealing, to metaphorically infer claustrophobia, however, the detail around the cut compliments the shimmers of the chains that we hope to use within the shot, as well as allowing light to reflect of of our character to compliment the choice of cinematography chosen.
